Brush after every meal, floss daily, use a fluoride toothpaste, and ask us about a fluoride rinse. Keep your retainer clean, never in boiling water or the dishwasher. Avoid sticky, chewy, and very hard foods.
Dissolve one teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of warm water and rinse for a few minutes (don’t swallow). If discomfort persists, a pain reliever can help. Wax over irritating brackets is always available, just ask.
Call us. You can temporarily push a loose wire back with the back of a spoon, and use wax or a wet cotton ball over an irritating wire until you can be seen.
